Formerly HAAD, the DOH regulates healthcare in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. As a DOH approved consultancy, we manage facility licensing from documentation to final approval.

Frequently asked questions
What documents are required for a new facility?
An authorised signatory certified by the competent authorities, the trade licence, the local sponsor's legal documents, and the facility plan with specialties.
What is preliminary approval?
Preliminary approval is the initial permission from the regional health authority to establish a medical facility at the proposed location with a requested specialty. It is valid for one year.
What is PSV and DataFlow?
Primary Source Verification (PSV) checks the education, training, experience and credentials of practitioners applying for licensing in the UAE. It is carried out independently by DataFlow, a third-party organisation.
How long does a new facility licence take?
Once we have all the documentation, the process typically takes 8 to 10 weeks. It can take longer if more information is required, and DataFlow verification is handled independently and can add time.
Can a licence be transferred between Emirates?
Requirements are now unified across authorities, but each authority remains separate. You must first obtain the licence in one authority before a transfer to another can be arranged.
